      Final :

Houston Alliance           3-2            ASC New Stars (OT, PKs)

In the Open Division, Houston Alliance beat ASC New Stars in a penalty shoot-out. The teams were scoreless after regulation time and again after two 10-minute overtimes. During the shoot-out, 14 kicks were attempted, but only 5 went in - a goalkeeper’s contest. Final score: 3-2 in kicks to Houston Alliance.

In Division 2A, Houston United Bruise beat Celtic FC 4-1 in a game that was much closer than the score suggests. Celtic had many opportunities that just didn’t convert in the hard-fought game.

In Division 2B, Nacional beat Mean Eyed Cat 2-1 in an emotional game where tempers sometimes flared. Again, a very close and evenly matched game between two tough competitors.

In Division 3, youth prevailed with the Houstonians Chelsea 93 beating Barnstoneworth United FC 3-0. Barnstoneworth came out of a group of O30 and O40 teams and after 4 games in a weekend, the young legs of the Houstonians prevailed.

Congratulations to all the teams who advanced to semi-final and final action and thanks to everyone who played in the tournament. It was a pleasure to be your hosts for the weekend and hope you all enjoyed it.

See you next year!
